Position: Lead Programmer
The successful candidate will have experience leading small web-based game teams. Flash coding experience is a must and online game server experience (i.e. SmartFoxServer) is a strongly preferred skill. Candidate will be able to architect the game's technical requirements in TDD form and lead at least 1 other programmer in a joint effort to produce the game. Should be a creative thinker who can work independently and make sound decisions.
Position: Gameplay Programmer
Previous Flash coding experience (Flex or ActionScript) desired. Experience in games strongly preferred, whether the games are casual, web, console or PC. Candidate will work with Lead Programmer to flesh out details of technical design and implement according to spec. Candidate will be responsible for implementing everything from gameplay logic to interface. Should be a creative thinker who can work productively will all disciplines.
Position: Lead Flash Artist
The successful candidate will have experience creating vector art for Flash games and working closely with at least one other artist on a single project. Candidate will be expected to use a combination of pre-existing art from the show as well as newly created art to produce a game that comes from one aesthetic vision. Must be aware of Flash game development issues from an artistic standpoint and be able to convey those issues to their direct report, if any. A strong personal style and efficient work ethic is a must.
Position: UI/Content Flash Artist
The successful candidate will have experience creating vector art for Flash games. Under the direction of the Lead Artist, candidate will produce game-ready vector art for user interface elements or other content requirements such as characters or environments. Previous experience with user interface design is highly desirable.
Position: Game Designer
The successful candidate will have prior experience in the game design discipline, either as a working designer or as a highly qualified graduate of a relevant game design program. Knowledge of Collectible Card Game products and mechanics is highly desirable, as is knowledge of web-based gaming and its possibilities. Candidate will work under the direction of the Project Lead and must be proficient and problem-solving design issues independently. Must work well with all disciplines and be a strong communicator.
Note: Successful applicants must be a Canadian citizen or possess landed immigrant status and be willing to work at Nerd Corps Studio in Vancouver, BC Canada.
